BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 26: District Information Centre Budgam in collaboration with Kashmir Concern Foundation (KCF) organized a day-long ‘Seerat Conference’ at Sheik- Ul- Alam Hall here today.

Eminent poets, writers, naat-khan and social activists belonging to different areas of Budgam presented and recited their poetry in love of Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W) in front of the huge gathering.

District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik was chief guest on the occasion.

The conference began with the opening remarks by renowned social activist and founder of the KCF, advocate Abdul Rashid Hanjura.

On the occasion, a ‘Mehfil Mushaira’ was also held which was presided over by the eminent writer advocate Ghulam Ahmad Niyazi.

DDC Budgam along with other prominent writers also released two books titled ‘Soz Jiger’ by Ghulam Mahiddin Kamli and ‘Nazrana’ by Zareena Gazi on the occasion.

Well known writer, Abdul Rehman Lateif was given annual ‘Maqbool Shah Kralwari’ award for his outstanding work on ‘Masnavi’.

DDC Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik on the occasion said that the soil of Budgam has been fertile in cultivating and giving birth to number of prominent writers, poets, saints and others who have earned their name and fame in the field.

He said that the only one can come up with such beautiful words one who has deeply involved himself in the poetry.

DDC also assured his support for holding such events in the district.

Among the prominent poets, who presented their poetry on the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W ) were Mohammad Amin Kamli, Mohammad Syed Saheb, Nayeem Kashmiri, Abdul Rehman Latief, Abdul Rashid Hanjura and Hakeem Masood.
