SRINAGAR, MAY 29: Continuing with an aim to provide more and more welfare measures for police personnel and to give financial assistance to meet the urgent needs, Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Dilbag Singh IPS sanctioned welfare loan in favour of 187 personnel of J&K Police. Welfare relief has also been granted in favour of twelve needy personnel. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.

As per the PHQ order No. 2014 dated 25 May 2019 welfare loan/relief of Rs.1,74,20,000/- has been sanctioned in favour of 187 personnel.

Among the 187 police personnel 22 personnel suffering from different ailments have been provided loan and relief of rupees 12.80 lakh for self treatment. Similarly eighteen personnel have been provided loan and relief of rupees 16.40 lakh for the treatment of their dependents.

Rupees 91 lakh have been sanctioned to ninety one personnel to meet the expenses of their marriage. Forty two personnel have also been provided welfare loan of rupees 41.50 lakh for the marriage of their dependents.

DGP also sanctions rupees one lakh each in favour of eleven police personnel in different ranks to meet the expenses of their wards on technical, professional and higher education.

Welfare loan/relief is sanctioned in favour of J&K Police personnel to meet the expenses of different natures including self treatment, treatment of dependents, education of wards, self marriage and marriage of wards, circumcision/yognopavit of son. The loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries.
