Srinagar:- Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reached Srinagar to take stock of the security situation on the borders, on Friday.

This is the first visit of Sitharaman to J&K as Defence minister of India early this month.

Sitharaman is accompanied by Army chief General Bipin Rawat and according to reports she will be visiting forward posts in North Kashmir.

She is scheduled to visit Siachen too, reports said.
