Family members demanded an inquiry into the incident at Trauma Hospital Kangan

Ganderbal (Kangan) 26 Mar (KNZ):The family members of a pregnant woman Thursday alleged that their baby died in her womb due to medical negligence of the doctors here at Trauma Hospital Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday.

Family members of Sameena Bano from Gojarpati Prang Kangan said on Wednesday we went to Trauma Hospital Kangan as Sameena was suffering from labor pain they alleged that we had advised doctors for quick treatment but instead of given her proper medical treatment a lady doctor said she is alright if any emergency you can contact me on phone.

On Thursday night at 2:00 am Sameena complained of pain again and trying to contact with lady doctor who gave adviced us contact me in case of emergency but she did not respond our repeated phone calls.

Later we took her to LD Hospital Srinagar where according to the doctors revealed that baby had died inside the mother’s womb.

The family alleged that the yet to be born baby had died due to medical negligence at Trauma Hospital Kangan where doctor’s not given her proper medical treatment and delayed the timely referral to LD Hospital Srinagar resulting into the death of the foetus.

The family members said it’s sheer negligence on part of the lady doctor at Trauma Hospital Kangan. If she told us to refer LD Hospital Srinagar the might not have been the fetal death.

The family members demanded an inquiry into the incident so that such incidents do not take place in future.

Medical Supridentent Trauma Hospital Kangan Dr Salma, denied the allegations saying that the baby did not die due to the negligence of doctors.”The baby had Intaruterine death (IUD)”

She said that the doctor who was present at the hospital has also told her attendants that baby had IUD with the pre-morbid conditions, which was also proved by the ultra-sound report.KNZ
