Ganderbal 28 Jan【KNZ】: The Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IPPI) Ist phase was today launched across Kashmir valley in which thousands of children under the age of 5 years were administered polio drops at pulse polio centres being set up by the administration at various locations in the valley.

In Ganderbal Deputy Commissioner,Dr Piyush Singla inaugurated the Pulse Polio immunization and gave Oral Polio vaccine to a new baby in  District Hospital Ganderbal on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion that teams have been deployed across the Ganderbal District.That as many as 3.27 lakh children up to 5 years age are being covered under the programme for which 232 polio booths have been established in the district, while as 944 employees and 47 supervisors were engaged in the process, besides 05 mobile teams were deployed to achieve the cent percent target under IPPI in the district.

CMO Ganderbal, Dy. CMO Ganderbal, Medical Superintendent, BMO Ganderbal, Health officers and other concerned were present on the occasion.

The programme would be conducted for three consecutive days to safeguard the children from this crippling disease.
