District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Rural Development Department and progress made under the flagship programmes including MGNREGA, 14th FC, SBM and B2V.The meeting was attended by ADC, Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CPO Ganderbal, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Ganderbal, Block Development Officers and other concerned.Assistant Commissioner Development presented a brief outlook of progress achieved by RDD in district Ganderbal under various schemes including MGNREGA, Sawach Bharat Mission, 14 F.C, and Back to Village programme.
The DDC reviewed Block and Panchayat-wise performance made under various schemes and set the timelines for completion of all pending works, while directions were passed to expedite the pace of developmental works. During the meeting DDC directed the BDO’s to complete the spillover works within 10-days, and further impressed upon BDOs and executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas by adopting innovative methods for effective implementation of schemes and involve people in the developmental process. The The DDC also took stock of physical and financial achievements made under SBM, MGNREGA and 14th FC.
