District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali khan, today visited Regional Transformer Repair workshop at Old Power House premises Ganderbal to inspect its functioning here.

The DDC was accompanied by ADDC Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, SE PDD, Exen, PDD Ganderbal and other concerned.

During the visit the DDC inspected all the sections of the workshop like assemble section, winding and rewinding sections. The Executive Engineer briefed him about its functioning, manpower and machinery availability.

While enquiring about the capacity of repairing damaged transformers in a day, the officials informed that 5-6 damaged transformers are repaired daily from the workshop. To augment the repairing capacity of the workshop, the DDC exhorted upon the Executive Engineer to take all necessary measures for its augmentation including machinery and manpower and directed the in-charge there to work in double shifts 24*7 so that maximum damaged transformers are repaired daily.

The DDC reiterated that district administration is committed to ensure hassle-free power supply in the district and people should not suffer of this paucity.

Later DDC visited the Alusteng Grid Station to take stock of development works there and was informed by the concerned that 3 transmissions lines will be functional soon which will supply power to the major part of the district and will improve reliability & quality of power supply .
