GANDERBAL, JULY 10: In order to provide governance at the door steps and to
ensure the grievance redressal mechanism at every level, District Development
Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan today chaired a day long public
outreach camp at Gutlibagh, Kangan where he listened to the public grievances.
The camp was attended by ADDC, Shafqat Iqbal, ADC, CEO, CMO, Executive
engineers of R&B and PMGSY, Tehsildar Ganderbal, BDO, Ganderbal, DIO
Ganderbal besides other officers of the district and marked the participation of huge
number of people of the adjoining areas.
The redressal camp witnessed enthusiastic participation of people of the areas
and public representatives on the occasion apprised the DDC about various issues
relating to macadamization of roads, electricity, staff dearth in schools, healthcare
facilities, play fields, desilting of Gutlibagh Irrigation Canal and other demands of
public importance.
On the occasion, the DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues projected during the
camp and passed on spot directions to the concerned officials.
Taking notice of chocking of Gutlibagh Irrigation Canal, DDC directed AEE I&FC
to start desilting of Irrigation Canal at an earliest for which he announced Rs 3 lakh
from District Plan.
He instructed them to ensure quick response to genuine issues and directed them to
maintain close liaison with the local population so that their grievances are redressed
at the earliest. Besides speed up developmental works of their respective
departments in area.
He said sustained efforts are afoot to accelerate the pace of development in the
district to provide people all basic facilities especially living in far-flung areas to
make their lives more comfortable.
