Ganderbal, May 03: The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan today flagged off a group of 30 girl students under age group of 13, 17 and 19 years representing different blocks of the district from Mini Secretariat Ganderbal to participate in inter-district road race of Kashmir province being organised by Joint Director Youth Service and Sports in district Anantnag.

ADC, Showkat Ahmad, ACR, Nisar Ahmad, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, incharge activity DYSS and other concerned were present on the occasion.

While interacting with the participating students, DC urged them to participate in these kinds of sports events to keep them physically and mentally fit and contribute in promoting a healthy society by encouraging others for their participation too.
Speaking on the occasion, Hashmat Ali said that sports activities have a profound and significant impact on the social and mental development of our youth besides urged them to participate with more frequency in such competitions.

Stressing on the need to extend support and encouragement to the sports talent in the district, DDC said that such competitions will play a decisive role in encouraging the local talent.

He also appreciated the District Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal for organizing such sports competitions and expressed hope that the event would prove instrumental in giving a boost to the talent of participating sports youth of the district.
