Tral : Members of the civil society Tral, citizens council Tral and others on Thursday morning staged peaceful protests in Tral sub division of South Kashmir.

The protests were held in support of Article 35A, which protects the hereditary state subject law of J&K, and is scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court tomorrow on 31 August.

The members of both these organisations along with locals have raised pro-35A slogans and threatened to hit the streets if Article 35A will be revoked.

They said that they are ready to “Give life” to prevent any onslaught on 35A and to save their demographic character, identity and other hereditary rights.

The protests were led by chairmen of these organisations who said that article-35A is the safeguard of not only for the people of Kashmir region but Jammu and Ladakh as well.

They further said that abrogation of article 35-A will never be tolerated.
