Ganderbal Sep 09【KNZ】:The residents of Gutlibagh and other adjoining areas are up in arms against the Power Development Corporation (PDC) for dilapidated condition of roads.

Despite passing of three years,work on Chap pergund to Gutlibagh road in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has not been completed yet,locals are blaming Power Development Corporation (PDC) apathy.

Loclas said .”The work on the road was taken by Power Development Corporation (PDC) three years ago for widening and upgradation.This road is part of 93 MW Ganderbal power project.The road approaches to proposed water tunnel for the power project.” and the authorities are playing hide and seek with us

Local residents also said the contractors are going slow with the work.The roads dug up for work are left open, and despite repeated appeals and complaints by residents, the corporation authorities have not taken steps to cover the roads for the safety and convenience of the public.

Local populace said then R&B minister Nayeem Akther visited area.He assured that work on the road will be completed within few months but it is still incomplete .

The locals said due to the pathetic condition of the road, the commuters and pedestrians are facing huge inconvenience every day.

They further said “Due to rough of the road, many people have suffered injuries. During rains, the road turns slippery, which poses accident risk.”

When Kashmir News Zone contacted Power Development Corporation (PDC) AEE Aasif Ahmad he said ” We have started work on the road and this time we will continue the work with fast pace.Within few months work on the road will be completed.”KNZ
