Srinagar,19 Dec 2017:Srinagar Police on Monday busted a fake job racket and arrested three persons who duped people in the name of providing government jobs against heavy cash payments siphoning crores of rupees from them.

On December 15, Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh received a complaint from one Abdul Rashid Mir, resident of Nihalpora Pattan that he along with other 17 persons have been duped by three men identified by him as Mushtaq Ahmad Gania of Kulgam, Fayaz Ahmad Dar @Aijaz of Pattan Baramullah and one Sham Lal @Manhas of Jammu. He claimed that about 57 lac rupees have been given by them to these three men on the promise of providing government jobs. Appointment letters were provided in different Government Offices by these three persons, which later proved fake.

Upon receiving the complaint Police Station RM Bagh registered an FIR 124/2017 U/S 420, 468, 471 and started the investigation. Fake appointment letters with government Departmental Logo’s, service books with fake seal and signature of government officials, relieving and transfer orders were seized.

A special investigation team was formed which raided several places and all the three accused were arrested within three days from Jammu.

During investigation it was revealed that more persons from different parts of valley were involved in the scam, who have duped dozens of other unemployed youth. Accordingly, 3 more persons linked with the scam are being probed into. Identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar resident of Kralkhud, Arshad Ahmad of Sonwar, Abdul Jabbar Hajam of Kupwara – these persons worked as motivators who would entice gullible unemployed youth for governments jobs against huge sum of rupees.

After receiving money, they used to arrange their meeting with Mushtaq, Fayaz and Shamlal who would pose themselves a Senior official working in secretariat. The candidates after paying money would receive appointment letters of different departments like Forest, Health, J&K Bank and Agriculture dept.

Many lower rung government and Bank officials are also believed to be involved in the scam and so far police have called up two official – Mohammad Afzal Incharge Medical Sub-centre Makhdoomyari Hajin and Haseena who works in Agriculture Dept for questioning.

Police is looking for four more persons – Manzoor Qadri @Manni Patni who would pose as Forrester, one Mohammad Yousuf Wani @master of Kunzer Baramulah, Mohammad Yousuf@ Doctor from Mochwada Shopian and one Mohammad Sharik of Verinag. All the four are believed to be the master minds in the scam and are evading arrest.

Police also raided a documentation centre in the HMT Area of the Srinagar city and arrested the computer centre owner where fake appointment letters, I-Cards etc were being printed. All material used for printing has been seized.

Investigation of the case in still on and more arrests are expected.
