Case registered against Filling station in Bandipora Bandipora, Feb 15: The department of legal metrology Bandipora on Saturday registered a case against a filling station in Bandipora for violating Consumer Protection Act and other legal metrology laws.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology along with a team of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS &CA) carried out an inspection of several filling stations including M/S Basharat Filling Station Kaloosa, M/S Wullar View Filling Station Patushai and M/S Babaji Filling Station Onagam for quality and quantity check of the products and other facilities. During the inspection, the delivery of the pumps and other quality tests were carried out which were found normal.

However, one case has been registered against Wullar View Filling Station Patushai for the violation of Consumer Protection Act and other Legal Metrology Laws. On the occasion, officers stressed on the traders to follow the rules in letter and spirit and also asked the vendors to follow the packaged commodity rules and other Metrology Acts. Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza has directed all the concerned officers to ensure regular inspections of markets falling within their respective jurisdiction and take strict action against those indulging in illegal and unethical practices.
