Srinagar: “The second martyrdom anniversary of famous youth resistance leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani would be observed across Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir to pay tributes

to the freedom fighter, who introduced new trends to fight against Indian rule,” conglomerate of militant outfits United Jihad Council Spokesperson Syed Sadaqat Hussain said in a statement to CNS.

“During the program, tributes will be paid to Burhan Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir renewing the pledge to continue their struggle for Kashmiris’ legitimate right to self-determination,” the spokesman said.

Burhan was killed on July 8 last 2016 during a joint operation by Indian Forces in south Kashmir’s Kokernag area, which was followed by widespread protest demonstrations across Kashmir Valley resulting in killings and blindness of scores of youth due to pellets and bullets.
