Srinagar 10 Nov:In yet another instance of negligence, the staff at two examination centers distributed the class 10 Urdu question papers among the class 12 students during the ongoing Board of School Education examination on Wednesday. The Urdu paper of class 10th is scheduled to be held on November 13.

BOSE chairperson Veena Pandita admitted that the concerned superintendents at an exam centre in Khansahab, Budgam and another centre in Nowhatta, Srinagar collected wrong packs of question papers and distributed the same among the students.

“Yes, it is a fact that they distributed the wrong question papers. We have collected reports from concerned police stations. These will be reviewed and submitted to the directorate of school education Kashmir for further action,” Pandita said.

She said that the examination of Urdu paper for class 10 would be held as per schedule. “We didn’t postpone the paper but cancelled the paper which was selected for distribution today. We have arranged a new paper for the students,” she said.

A BOSE official said that it was due to “negligence” of staff members that wrong question papers were distributed.

He said that the superintendents collect the answer paper packets which are signed by concerned inspectors and then distributed among students. “But it seems that all of them have taken their jobs lightly,” he said.

Meanwhile, in Budgam, the concerned chief education officer placed four invigilatory staff under suspension for distributing wrong question papers among students.

“I have placed them under suspension and recommended action against the superintendent,” he said.

The BOSE official said a superintendent collects the question paper from the concerned police station as per datesheet, at least one hour prior to exam time. “These two superintendents have not checked the paper carefully,” the official said.

Director school education Kashmir GN Itoo said that action would be taken against superintendents and other erring officials as per the recommendations of BOSE. “I have not received the report from BOSE. We have to see what action will be recommended. Once I will get the report, action will follow,” Itoo said.GK
