Ganderbal, 03 June【KNZ】:Ganderbal police solved a murder case of a 43 year old man and arrested one accused persons involved in the crime.

On 01 June 2018, Police station Kheerbawani received a missing complaint from one person namely Gh Ahmad Khanday s/o late Ab Rehman Khanday resident of Shalabugh, wherein it was stated that his Son namely Mohd Yousuf Khanday, about 43 years old is missing

In this regard a special team was established by the SSP Ganderbal shri Fayaz Ahmad Lone JKPS under the supervision of Dysp Hqr Ganderbal Shri Ashiq Hussain JKPS.

A Police party headed by SHO kheerbawani was deputed to the spot and the dead body was recovered.

The dead body was identified by the family members of the missing person.

After registration of case FIR number 33/2018, Kheerbawani Police took swift action and arrested one accused persons namely Mohd Shafi Magray son of Mohd Sadeeq Magray residents of Chanduna village.

Initial investigations reveal that the prime motive behind murder was financial dispute.

The accussed person had borrowed Rs 80000 from the deceased person with a promise of paying him back within few months,but has failed to him back,official said

The accused Magrey had information that Mohammad Yousuf was visiting J&K Bank branch in Chundina on May 31 and he asked him to meet him at a designated spot.

“The duo met at the predefined location. The accused person handed over his cheque book to the deceased person and asked him to write a cheque on behalf of the accused person as the accused person is illiterate,” the police officer said.

The moment deceased person bowed down to write the chque, Magrey hit his head with a large stone, which was already kept there by him.

“Mohammad Yousuf fell unconscious and Magrey hit him several times on the head, neck and chest,” the officer.

Magrey stole the dead man’s belongings, including his cell phone, and threw them away in Pulwama district to mislead us, the police officer told Kashmir News Zone【KNZ】
