Ganderbal, Aug 5: A prominent BJP activist alnog with his supporters today joined the National Conference (NC) in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, a party spokesman said.
Mehraj-u-din Bhat District Secretary BJP , who enjoys support of dozens of senior BJP workers , joined the NC at a function here in Ganderbal.
While welcoming them to party fold, NC district president and sitting MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq said that people have realised that National Conference is the only effective voice of people of the state to fulfill the aspirations of masses of the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
Ishfaq, addressing the function, emphasised the need of steering Jammu and Kashmir to political stability, saying the “breach of trust and mandate by the just-ended opportunistic BJP-PDP combination” had hugely shattered peoples’ faith in democratic polity, which is now needed to be restored and reinforced.
BJP workers who joined NC include Mohd Amin Sofi, Fayaz Ahmad Sofi, Mudasir Ahmad Lone,Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Aadil Ahmad Bhat, Tawheed Hussain and Fayaz Ahmad Sofi.
