Ganderbal, Oct 09【KNZ】: ADDC Ganderbal, N.A Baba kick started a week- long “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign organized by District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Ganderbal and Al-habib health Society (NGO) at Mini Secretariat, DC Office Complex Ganderbal here today.
Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal inaugurated a week-long programme in presence of District Programme Officer ICDS, CPO, Dy CEO, District Health Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and CDPO’s of Lar and Ganderbal.
On the occasion, the ADDC while highlighting the need and importance of ‘Save the girl child’ campaign said that such awareness camps would help in ensuring empowerment of women through education and equal participation in all the fields, besides preventing sex selective elimination of girl child. ADDC also said, Beti (Girl) is the ray of hope not only for the parents but two families and the nation as a whole. He stressed that each of us in the society has to pledge that every girl should be given the respect at the highest and teaching of the girl child should become aim of every person.
Among others Supervisors, Aaganwadi workers of ICDS Department, Aasha workers from health, Girl students of various institutions and a large number of women were present on the occasion.
