Students of the B ED union of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday held a protest demonstration outside press Enclave, Srinagar.
The candidates of B ED from all districts of Kashmir participated in the protest demanding B ED as compulsory for teaching in Kashmir also, as the degree has been made mandatory outside the state.
The candidates said that B ED, D ED and ETT degrees should be regarded as a basic qualification for a teaching post “why is the government not recruiting already trained graduates of B.ED program so that a considerable amount of the public money could be saved,” said a protesting candidate.
“Almost 90,000 students are pursuing a B.ED program of two years duration from different colleges of Kashmir so if the state government fails to do so, we would be left with no other option but to take to streets,” he added.
