JAMMU, NOVEMBER 29: Attestation-cum-passing  out Parade of 25thbatch of recruit constables was held at S Prithinandan Singh  Police Training School Kathua today.Hon’ble Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti was the chief guest on the occasion. The function was attended among others by Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment Shri Lal Singh, MLA Hira Nagar Kuldeep Raj and MLC Balbir Singh, DGP Dr. S.P Vaid, Commandant General Home Guards/Civil Defence ,ADGP Armed Shri A.K Choudhary,a galaxy of senior civil and police officers and parents/ relatives of recruit constables.

           In her address, the Hon’ble Chief Minister said that J&K Police has exhibited highest degree of discipline, patience in dealing with different challenges faced by the state on different fronts of fight against terrorism, stone pelting, drugs and crime.

          Speaking on the occasion, DGP Dr. S.P Vaid said that the trainees have been trained in all skills needed for a people friendly policing.  He said that he is proud that a highly qualified batch of constables joining police Parivar today.

          Elaborating different welfare measures, DGP said that with the active support of Hon’ble Chief Minister various schemes have been introduced to benefit the police personnel. Ex-gratia relief for the families of martyrs has been enhanced and more schemes for the serving personnel are under consideration with the govt.

          DGP thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister for approving different welfare schemes for the police personnel and their families.

          Principal PTS Kathua Shri Ranjit Kanwar gave a detailed resume of the training activities being carried out in the school. He said that besides conventional training, emphasis was laid on training in the areas like counter insurgency operations, crime detection and investigation to acquaint the trainees with latest techniques of training.

Constable Mehraj Din was adjudged all round best Trainee and was granted out of turn promotion. He was decorated with Sg.Ct.rank on the spot by Hon’ble Chief Minister and DGP J&K.

Constable Arif Mohammad Wani  and Mohammad Shafiq were declared 2nd and 3rd All Round best and were awarded with Commendation Certificate Class I along with cash reward of  rupees ten thousand and seventy five hundered respectively. Constable Ashfaq Ahmad Dar, Constable Shakir Yousuf and Muzamil Farooq secured Position in Indoor, Outdoor and Range classification respectively and were also awarded cash reward of rupees seventy five hundred each along with the commendation certificate Class I. Parade commanders Rameez Raja Tantray and  Choudhary Asif Chichi were also awarded with cash reward of rupees five thousand and Copmmendation certificate.

           The educational qualification profile of the batch is very impressive with two M Sc. IT, 2 SET/NET, 187 PG and 349 graduates, who successfully completed a basic training course of nine months.
