Bandipora: Police have claimed to have recovered arms and ammunition in Chandergeer area of Bandipora district of north Kashmir on intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

Police sources said that acting on a tip off SIT Srinagar, local police, 13 RR and 45 BN CRPF raided the house of Abdul Rehman Parray S/o Mohammad Anwar Parray R/o Chandergeer and recovered arms and ammunition from the cow shed, The recovery included Ak-47 Mag =05, AK-47 Rds=42, Ubgl=01 ,Ubgl, Grds=04, GPS=01 and wireless set=O2 in a nylon bag in the cowshed.

It’s pertinent to mention here that the recoveries have been made in the cow shed of the same house owner where recent encounter between government forces and militants took place at last month. 6 militants were killed by in the gunfight.

The recovered arms and ammunition was dumped under the ground in the cow shed, police sources said. It is believed that the recovered arms and ammunition belonged to the killed militants.
