Srinagar: One more youth was hit by a bullet in Shopian after government forces opened fire on the protestors on Sunday.

Sources in the Zainpora medical facility said that a youth was brought to the hospital who was hit by a bullet in abdomen. He was rushed to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

He was identified as Sareer Ahmad of Heff village of the district.

“He was hit by bullets in Baopora area after the encounter ended,” local sources said.

Earlier, at least twelve injured persons were brought o PHC Zainpora one among whom was hit by bullet in right leg.

Another youth had pellet injuries in eye. The duo was shifted to Srinagar for special treatment.

Intense clashes erupted after an encounter ended in which three Hizb ul Mujahideen militants and two Indian army men were killed during an encounter which started on Saturday afternoon in Awneera village of the district.
