SRINAGAR, AUGUST 16: The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, today convened a meeting to review the education scenario of district Baramulla.

The meeting was attended by MLA Baramulla, Javaid Hassan Baig, MLC, Gulam Nabi Monga, Law Secretary, Abdul Majid Bhat, Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah, DC Baramulla, Joint Director Planning, Baramulla and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, the officials informed the Minister about the ongoing education-related developmental works and the various issues faced by the department in district Baramulla.

On the occasion, MLA Baramulla put forward various developmental proposals which were approved on the spot. Bukhari gave approval for the renovation of Library for Higher Secondary School, Baramulla which was gutted in fire.

Regarding the construction of High School at Ladoora in Baramulla, the Minister directed the officials to complete all the necessary paper work at an earliest. Bukhari said that a 300 seater auditorium will also be constructed.

The allocation of furniture for various schools was also discussed during the meeting. It was informed that Education Department has already put forward the order for eight lakh pieces of desks and tables.

The land-related issue in the Government Degree College, Baramulla was also discussed and the ways to solve the problem was discussed threadbare.

During the meeting various other issues were put forward before the Minister to which he extended his full support for the upliftment of education scenario in the district.

He asked the officials to submit the proposals for the necessary works that needs to be implemented on priority basis in district Baramulla.
