Ganderbal 11 March, 2018:- The Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IPPI) 2nd Phase was today inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Mr. N.A Baba by administering Oral Polio vaccine to a baby in District Hospital Ganderbal on Sunday.
On the occasion CMO Ganderbal, Dy. CMO Ganderbal, Medical Superintendent, BMO Ganderbal, Health officers and other concerned were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, CMO Ganderbal said that overall arrangement has been made by his department on the Pulse Polio day and teams have been deployed across the Ganderbal District for immunizing 45780 small children up to the age of 5 from the polio disease.
He further informed that 231 vaccination booths had been setup in different parts of the district for the campaign to cover 45780 children of 0-5 years for vaccination. Besides, 323 health workers, 340 ICDS workers, 258 Asha workers, 46 Supervisors and 19 voluntary workers have been also deputed for conducting the programme.
