GANDERBAL, JANUARY 15: To impart training to the newly elected Sarpanchs of the district, Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today flagged off 39 newly elected Sarpanchs of block Safapora, Lar, Wakura and Sharpathri for phase ist, 4-days training program scheduled at Srinagar organised by the department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj along with District Administration Ganderbal.

Shafqat Iqbal while interacting with the Sarpanchs said that the training would be beneficial for the newly elected representative as it would apprise them about their rights and duties besides training would cover all the aspects like powers vested in the institution, functioning of e-Panchayats, Online management of accounts, proper utilization of man and machinery and usage of development.

The ADDC, while underlining the role of Sarpanchs in ensuring a development of the rural areas, said that these elected representatives would be strengthened so that they may implement development schemes without any hurdle and district administration would support these elected PRIs in implementation of these schemes at the ground level.

DBO Ganderbal, Zahoor Salfi and DIO Ganderbal, Riyaz Fazli were also present on the occasion.
