SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 10: The Education Department’s newly constituted special squad today conducted surprise visits to various private coaching institutes and found that in some cases norms were getting violated. Accordingly, an action was initiated against errant coaching centres, whose registration was immediately suspended.
The squad constituted by Director School Education, Dr G. N Itoo constitutes of senior officers headed by Joint Director Abid Hussain.
The main aim to constitute the squad is to curb the menace of running coaching centres and tuition centres that are not registered and operating against the norms laid down by the competent authority. The registration of several coaching centres has been withdrawn with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, Director School Education has appealed the general public not to enroll their wards in coaching centres which violate the norms set for them as per the SRO/435.
“We are not against any educational activity but it should not become a business to exploit the innocent children,” Director said.
