Three bodies have been recovered from the Khardungla Top where an snow avalanche buried at least ten persons this morning.

Officials in police said that three bodies have been recovered thus far while the rescue operation is ongoing.

The rescue operation is being carried out by thea Border Roads Organisation under Project Himank which pressed into service its jawans with equipment.

Officials of the BRO said that the men and its machinery have been swiftly pressed into service to rescue the stuck persons. 

 Officials said that today morning at around 7am an avalanche occurred near Khardongla Top in which about ten persons onboard a Tipper were buried under the avalanche.

Rescue parties of Police, SDRF, Amy and GREF are on the spot, they said.
